According to the World Nuclear Association, The EU depends on nuclear power for more than one-quarter of its electricity, and a higher proportion of base-load power. Nuclear provides over half of low-carbon electricity. In 2015 in the EU, 27% of electricity was nuclear, 27% was from coal, 17% from gas, 2% from oil, and 27% renewables (more than half from hydro).
According to Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), Nuclear power plants provided 10,9 % of the world’s electricity production in 2012. In 2015, 13 countries relied on nuclear energy to supply at least one-quarter of their total electricity.
