Heat Treatments

FERESPE’s Heat Treatments unit was formally established at the end of 2018 to meet market demand on delivery times and product quality.

Since 2014 FERESE had already a Heat Treatment furnace, in accordance with the Norsok code in 2015. We have come a long way to reach the level of excellence we set ourselves in this area, having invested over € 2 million euros in facilities and equipment.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
• Full automatic line
• Temperature uniformity and accuracy
• Several cooling media ( air, water and aqueous polymer solutions)

HEAT TREATMENT SOLUTIONS

Quenching (air, water, aqueous polymer solutions)

A Heat treatment process with rapid cooling to obtain, in the large majority of steels, a high hardness and resistance microstructure.

The cooling media selection depends on the piece section and shape and on the cooling rate necessary to obtain the necessary microstructures.

On a next stage we have the Tempering heat treatment after quenching to achieve specific values of mechanical properties with improved ductility, as well as reduction of residual stresses and dimensional stability in parts.

Solution annealing plus water quenching

Rapid cooling process from a solubilisation temperature to ensure detrimental microstructure dissolution. As a result we have improved corrosion resistance and optimized mechanical properties.

Normalizing

A Heat treatment process which has the specific objective of refining the grain structure, homogenizing the chemical composition, preparing the product for further heat treatment; It also eliminates the dendritic structure in the castings pieces.

Precipitation Hardening

Process performed on stainless steels where hardening is promoted by the formation of fine dispersed precipitates in the structure that promote a high mechanical resistance at high temperatures as well as corrosion resistance.

Annealing

A heat treatment process for obtaining microstructures closer to the equilibrium state, which produce products with low mechanical strength and high ductility.

Stress relief

A process that aims to reduce internal stresses in the parts, stress that was originated in previous manufacturing processes to which they were subjected.
